Saran Kaba Jones, FACE Africa Founder and CEO

Saran Kaba Jones, born in Liberia, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FACE Africa, a Boston based non-profit that funds and supports sustainable clean water, sanitation and hygiene projects in Liberia.

Kaba Jones, born in Liberia, is a clean water advocate and social entrepreneur.

Kaba Jones spent her childhood years living in Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, France and Cyprus.

Since launching FACE Africa in January 2009, the organization has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for clean water projects in Liberia.

In recognition of her commitment to clean water initiatives that have benefited over 10 000 people in Liberia to Kaba Jones was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the county of Rivercess, one of the most marginalized areas in Liberia.

Prior to FACE Africa, Kaba Jones worked with the Singapore Economic Development Board and the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University.

Kaba Jones is an Echoing Green semi-finalist and was listed as one of Forbes Magazine 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa.

In 2013, Kaba Jones was listed by the Guardian UK as one of Africa’s 25 Top Women Achievers.

Kaba Jones was also named a 2013 World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.

In 2012, Kaba Jones received the Longines/ Town&Country Women Who Make A Difference Award for her work with FACE Africa.

In addition, Kaba Jones was listed by Black Enterprise as one of 10 International Women of Power to Watch and by the Daily Muse as one of 12 Women to Watch.

In 2011, Kaba Jones received the Applause Africa Person of the Year Award.

Kaba Jones was also a Huffington Post Greatest Person of the Day and the Voss Foundation’s Women Helping Women Honoree.
