Obi Ibekwe, United Bank for Africa Executive Director of Resources

Obi Ibekwe serves as an Executive Director of Resources at United Bank for Africa Plc.

Ibekwe served Executive Director of Resources Overseeing Human Resources, Customer Service, Corporate Services and Procurement at United Bank for Africa Plc since 1 May 2014.

Ibekwe served as an Executive Director of Human Resource Management and Customer Service at United Bank for Africa Plc since 2013.

Ibekwe served as General Manager at Zenith Bank Plc.

She practiced as a Lawyer with Olaniwun Ajayi and Co.

She served in the banking industry, where she had 12 years experience as a Credit and Marketing Officer. She started her banking career with Universal Trust Bank (now Union Bank).

She served with Diamond Bank Plc. She joined Accenture in May 2003 and had four years experience leading strategy development/human performance projects for various organizations in the Nigerian financial services industry.

She has been an Executive Director at United Bank for Africa Plc since May 22, 2013. She holds an MBA degree from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 2002.

Ibekwe also holds two first degrees: Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts in 1980 and LLB Hons from the University of Lagos, 1985.

She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.
