Dr Khotso Mokhele, University of the Free State Chancellor

Khotso Mokhele, served as President of National Research Foundation at Genbel South Africa and also served as its Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to 2006.

Mokhele serves as Founding President of Academy of Science of South Africa.

Mokhele served as President and Vice President of foundation for Research and Development from 1992 to 1999.

Mokhele served as Vice President of National Research Foundation.

Mokhele served as the Chairman of ArcelorMittal South Africa from January 2007 to December 2009.

Mokhele serves as the Chairman of Adcock Ingram Holdings Limited and National Skills Authority.

Mokhele has been the Chairman of Impala Platinum Holdings since November 2009.

Mokhele has been a Non-Executive Director of Iscor Limited since February 1998 and Zimplats Holdings since February 2007.

Mokhele serves as non-executive director of Afrox Limited.

Mokhele serves as a Director of Genebel South Africa.

Mokhele has been a Non-Executive Director of Impala Platinum Holdings since June 2004 and African Oxygen since December 2005 and has been Independent Non-Executive Director of Tiger Brands Limited since August 2007.

Mokhele also serves as a Trustee of the Hans Merensky Foundation.

Mokhele was on the teaching and research staff of the Universities of Fort Hare and Cape Town from 1986 to 1992.

Mokhele holds BSc in Agriculture.and earned Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Food Science and Microbiology, respectively, from the University of California.

Mokhele has also completed an executive programme at Stanford University.

Mokhele earned Honorary Doctorate from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
