Dimension Data Holdings, founded by Werner Sievers in 1983, is a South African company specializing in information technology services, with operations on every inhabited continent.

Dimension Data, popularly known as DiData, first listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Securities Exchange in 1987. In the year 2000, DiData listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Throughout the years, DiData has acquired several ICT companies including, Plessey South Africa, ComTech Communications, Data Processing Systems, Datacraft Asia and OpSource Inc.

Dimension Data’s focus areas include network integration, security solutions, data centre solutions, converged communications, customer interactive solutions, Microsoft solutions and a range of professional, consulting, managed and support services.

Dimension Data has several subsidiaries including BlueFire, OpSource, Internet Solutions, Plessey, Xigo, Express Data, Merchants and Dimension Data Learning Solutions.

In 2012, Dimension Data launched its Cloud Business Unit to develop and sell public and private cloud solutions to enterprise clients.

In 2010, the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) fully acquired Dimension Data.
